Are you working with interns on a regular basis? Then you probably know that it is great fun combined with some challenging aspects to it. How do you adapt your style of guidance in such a way that students can make the most out of their internship? What do you do to organise internships in such a way that it feels comfortable and safe for students? In what helpful ways do you give your feedback to students? What do you do when a student goed into a more defensive mode after feedback? The duration of the course is 10 weeks. Three half days are scheduled (see program) and two online evening calls focussed on intervision will be planned during the course with participants.
This 10 week course is all about behaviour and positive ways of influencing behaviour as an intern supervisor. You will learn about different preferences in learning and how to effectively transfer your knowledge to interns/students.
The learning process is an interactive with other participants during intervision sessions. There are E-learnings available for the additional theoretical knowledge. Your study coach will guide you through the course.
Programma
The program is offered on behalf of House of Hospitality by provider Breaking Habits in cooperation with Balboa coaching, Education by Julien, E-lia, Passion4Guests, VAEKST Hospitality en SVH
Week 1: Tuesday 7 January, 13.00-16.30 hrs
During the first half day we'll meet up and get to know eachother. You'll receive the information how to develop your portfolio in order to obtain your certificate. E-learnings will be presented and instructions will be given to use the E-learnings. Finally there will be an explanation and first try out for intervision sessions with your fellow participants.
Week 2: date and time to be scheduled
There will be an online evening session with intervision. We will discuss in small groups different scenario's that participants collected. A form of very effective learning!
Week 5: Tuesday 4 February, 13.00-16.30 hrs
During this half day we will focus and deepdive into conversation skills. Exercises in giving feedback. There is also the opportunity to reflect on the assignments for your portfolio.
Week 7: date and time to be scheduled
Another online evening session focussed on Intervision and scenarios.
Week 9: Tuesday 4 March, 13.00-16.30
'The final meeting. This meeting is scheduled to give you the opportunities to focus on your portfolio and all things that are important for you to obtain your certificate. Guiding students is one of the topics to be discussed this evening
Week 10: Handing in your portfolio for review.
